Easy to cut, no more aching hands.Aug 24, 2011
By Quilting in Rosemount I have a lot of pain in my hands if I do certain repetitive movements, so I had pretty much sworn off rotary cutters as not worth the pain. My local quilt shop recommended this cutter, and I just love it. The bent handle is ergonomic and well balanced.
Now, I will say the other reviewer was correct, this cutter does have more pieces when you change the blade than other cutters I have used. But as long as you are either mindful of how it comes apart or have the instructions handy, it isn't difficult to put together. And the washers help the cutting blade rotate smoothly.

Update on Not a bad cutter but....Aug 03, 2011
By Judy in Pacific NW I do like the way this cutter fits in my hand and the shape does give me better control and ability to apply more pressure. Changing the blade is a challenge and I have to refer to the directions each time. So, if you buy it, keep the instructions handy. The lip requires it to ride along the top of the ruler which helps keep it from wandering. But it also makes it a bit awkward if I want to cut back towards me. I can't do that with this cutter like I can with my Olfa standard cutter. In spite of the drawbacks, I'll continue to use it as the benefits outweigh the downsides.
August 7 update: I am going to toss this thing. Changing the blade isn't just a challenge, it's a nightmare. Awkward and difficult to take apart. I just spent over 10 minutes changing the blade. I've ordered a different brand comfort rotary cutter and hope to like it better.

Very comfortable to useFeb 20, 2012
By Julie I didn't think I liked rotary cutters because I had a poor quality cutter that required a lot of downward pressure to cut lightweight cotton fabric. Then my daughter let me try using her TrueCut cutter. I was amazed at the difference. This cutter makes nice, clean cuts that don't require the use of a scissor to finish cutting my fabric pieces. It took a little getting used to, but I love the plastic guide that fits over the small "rail" on the edge of the TrueCut ruler, making it easy to make straight cuts. The blade guard is retractable for use, and then needs to be repositioned after use, but I like that better than the spring-loaded guard on my old cutter. I don't need to be as concerned about the guard moving back and exposing the blade when I carry it in my project tote. Best of all, it doesn't cause pain in my wrist when I use it more than a few minutes since I don't need to bend my wrist while using it. This is an excellent cutter!

A total winner of a cutter for my wifeJan 12, 2012
By David Roberts This was a birthday gift for my wife who was recently diagnosed with de Quevvain's Tendonitis of the hand. She is an avid quilter and this hand pain has really made her quilting hard for her. She is a huge strip quilter (10+ a year) and her other 4 rotary cutters (different designs and brands) were no help. This cutter is truly and improvement in design in her opinion.
We also bought the Simplicity Rotary Cutting Machine as a solution to her cutting challenges. It too is a great asset if you cut out a lot of fabric strips.
Oh my wrist thank youApr 01, 2012
By Leatherface i dont like the way the blade guard retracts (gingher is better) but that is made up for by putting the handle on top of the blade i found that i cut my leather faster and more effecently than with my other cutters and i own them all. i used to make my living with a rotery cutter and wish this product was around then i don't think i would have gotten carpel tunnel.
